"Actually, the lady that worked at the Court House, where the museum is upstairs, the museum then it was fully operating, you know, Court House then, they had a pony out at-at their house and I could walk through the path and go up there and play with their pony... and he kind of was just like in the pasture. And me I always wanted a pony and living in city limits, you know, I couldn't have one so I treated that pony as if it were mine and I'd take apples and stuff up there. But so funny, I'd be in the house and I'd hear traffic you know horns blowing and everything. I look and that pony was coming down the middle of the road to my house. And I would tie it up to the tree and my parents would pull up and they'd be like, "Oh no, uh-uh, we ain't keepin' that." Cause they always called me Ellie May anyway cause we had like chickens, dogs, cats, we had whatever you think of. And those chickens would fall off the chicken truck from the bridge, I'd catch them put them in the coop. So there's that pony tied up to the tree, and I mean it's just stuff like that even through we're in the city, you know, right there next to the city limits it was like wild kingdom. Ah, it was just, it was just amazing."
